The picturesque village of West Linton is an ideal base for experiencing the wealth of activities the Scottish Borders has to offer.

Fishing, Golfing, Horse-Riding, Cycling and Walking to name but a few.

Fishing
From the internationally famous salmon fishing on the River Tweed itself, to the excellent sea trout fishing on its tributaries; from the rainbow trout in the local lochs to the wilder brown trout in the rivers;

Details of local fishing is available at the Post Office.

Golf
There are two 18 hole golf courses: the West Linton Golf Course founded in 1890 is a moorland course above West Linton; and Rutherford Castle Golf Club, between Carlops and West Linton on
the A702, is a new parkland course.

Riding
West Linton has a number of Riding Centre's on its doorstep which cater for both novice and experienced riders.

Cycling
There are a selection of cycle routes available from a basic 7 mile circuit to a challenging marathon length run.

In the last few years the Forestry Commission has been building many new all weather mountain bike paths throughout the local forests. Some of these tracks are amongst the best single-track routes you will find anywhere.

Walking
The West Linton Area Tourist Group have produced a number of freely available leaflets on walks around West Linton.  The village has a number of hidden treasures and you will find the literature very informative.  There are walks to suit everybody from the experienced hillwalker to those who prefer a casual stroll.
